Escale en Indonésie by Les Indemodables at Indigo Perfumery

 

Escale en Indonésie... a stopover on the Sumatra Island, where an exceptional Ambergris piece was been found and upgraded into a tincture at our Lab. A « Grand Cru » labeled grade has been used in high dosage in this fresh Cologne. 

 

In the opening, a sunny, sparkling, and fresh burst of Calabrian Bergamot and Sicilian lemon are combined with the green and floral freshness of the bitter orange leaf oil from Morocco. Australian sandalwood and Egyptian Jasmine create a creamy and woody distinctive accord. The base revels in Ambergris, with its many facets (ozonic, slightly animalic, salted), and is very long-lasting on the skin.

 

 

Top notes: Bergamot oil (Italia) 

Heart notes: Neroli oil (Maroc), Jasmine (Egypt)

Base notes: Ambergris tincture (Indonesia), Australian Sandalwood

An aside from Les Indémodables- "Ambre gris is the most important one, a traditional ingredient once used in famous perfumes. We have selected and purchased a block of ambergris and then used a modern ultrasound machine to break it down into the smallest components possible and then our in-house scientist Jean Philippe Paris tinctures it for about six months: it has many facets (ozonic, animalic, salted), and is very long-lasting on skin. This scarce and precious grade is no longer used in fine fragrances."
